Another Dad Update!

As you can see Nemo also fits into our two story townhouse. As you can also see, I am not pleased. He is showing me his belly and being submissive but it does not make me any more happy that he is in there.

Mom is taking over our blog to give you a Dad update. We said as long as we got to post a picture of us today she could talk about Dad.

We want to thank you all for all the purrs and prayers. We think they are the reason we can report such good news. At the biopsy and doctor was really concerned because it came back in about 4 months time. The first biopsy was moderate dysplasia and he made it sound like this looked exactly the same and it was either the same tissue or worse. This biopsy came back negative for any abnormal tissue. The thing they took off was a pus filled granule that was probably caused by the first biopsy. He still needs to go back for regular checks but instead of 6 weeks they will be 8 weeks apart. This is also great because it means less payments to the doctor as well as him not having to have a camera stuck up his nose and down his throat. It is a happy day at our house. Thank you all again for all the purrs and prayers for us. That is one less thing for us to have to worry about. It means a lot to all of us to have such support from people we have never met.

Holy Cats

You see the above picture. We were going outside everyday and it had even reached 75. We don't have any pictures to prove this but it snowed here this weekend. It got very cold and really snowy and it even stuck. Luckily it is gone now but we have wind. Mom says that if I was to go out today I could be a Patches kite. That sounds like it could be a little fun.

Today is the day Dad finds out the results of the biopsy. Mom and Dad are trying to be really hopeful that things are not bad. We don't really want our Dad to have more surgery but we also don't want to think about the awful c word. Mom has yet to hear about the job yet. She has been feeling a little down thinking about it but whatever happens she is glad that she at least still has a job.

Our Grandma and Grandpa cat came to visit last weekend to get things ready for the baby. If we aren't around much in the next few weeks that might mean Mom had the baby. She is our primary typist but we will beg Dad to come on and make an announcement. Her due date is April 10 but she has had a few rough evenings with little sleep and she says she is ready to be done. We will keep checking on our friends blogs even if we can't post so we won't go away completely. We will update tomorrow about Dad's appointment. Wish us luck.

Dad's Update

We are sorry that it has taken us so long to update on Dad's house. Mom has been busy and she is our main typist around here. Dad is doing really well. He had trouble getting an IV again and the last time he had a biopsy that had troubles with intubation after he was asleep so they had to intubate him while he was awake. This was the worst part of the whole ordeal. Being awake when they are trying to stick a tube down your throat is no fun and it has really made him sore. Your natural reaction to something going down your throat is to gag and to tense up so his muscles in that area are sore. The surgery didn't take that long and grandmacat was there with Mom so that helped pass the time. The doctor showed them pictures of Dad's throat. The growth grew back in the exact same place. They took it off again but the concern is that their is a base to this growth further down that they can't really get to without a possible compromise to his voice box. The big concern is the fact that it grew back so quickly. It was removed in November and here we are again 4 months later and it has grown back. We will find out at the end of March what kind of tissue it is. Either way there are drawbacks. If the tissue is pre-cancerous again it is a waiting game and most likely another biopsy in a few months unless it never comes back. If it comes back as cancerous cells than we would likely have it in early stages and use direct radiation on it. We just hope our Dad doesn't have to go through the intubation like that again so it is a waiting game. Again, we encourage all you pets that have humans who smoke to help them to quit. Our Dad has never smoked but his Mom and Dad did when he was younger so he grew up around 2nd hand smoke. This is likely the cause of his problems. We encourage you also that if you notice your humans having a hoarse voice or prolonged sore throat or ears to ask their doctor about seeing an Ears, Nose and Throat doctor. Dad's general practitioner kind of put aside the issues until he requested a referral and without it we wouldn't have known about all these problems. Enough of the doom and gloom. Tomorrow we will be back to tell you about our Grandmacat being here and how it doesn't please us and maybe some cute pictures of us messing with baby stuff. Thanks for all the purrs, keep them coming. Our Dad really loves to hear them.

Wordy Wednesday

This is an old picture of us. We never lay together anymore like this and mom wishes we would be more nice to one another. We have some news about our dad that we would like to share. Our mom and dad went to his followup appointment about his biopsy and his sleep study. We didn't get such great news, but it is not all bad either. With the sleep study they found that dad was stopping breathing every 30 seconds. That is not such good news but they are going to give him a CPAP machine that will make him stop snoring and make him get some good sleep. His snoring has been going on for 10 years so we can't wait for him to finally sleep well and allow mom and the new baby to sleep as well. As for the biopsy on his larynx they found moderate dysplasia. Mom says that dysplasia means abnormal cells. There are 3 forms before they are cancerous, mild, moderate, severe. That they found it at all is just a lucky break and our dad is only 25 (which seems old to us) is good. Now our dad has to go every 6 weeks to get the camera thing shoved up his nose and down his throat to keep an eye on it. If anything returns they will take it out. Most people who have this type are heavy smokers and when they find anything on the larynx it is later in life. Our dad does not smoke but did grow up around smoking. We would like to encourage anyone who smokes to stop and think about what you could be doing to your body but more importantly, look at the others around you, especially kids. Enough of the doom and gloom. We will need continuous purrs from everyone through this but we are glad that we have the ability to know this early and to keep an eye on it. As for our mom, she goes to the doctor today to checkup on the baby and hopefully schedule some sort of picture taking of it inside her. This sounds weird but we'll let you know how it goes. Oh, and its snowing again. Maybe another 4 inches by tonight. Mom will take a picture to show later. Sorry for the wordy post.

An Update on our dad and some news to share.

Well, today is going to be word Wednesday here. We have had so many great comments asking about our dad so we thought we would give a little update. Dad was all back to normal quickly because it was just the biopsy. We are waiting for full results and have that appointment on December 2. Dad got his tooth fixed so its not chipped anymore. Last Sunday dad left at night and stayed all night somewhere else. When he came home he smelled funny. He said that he went for a sleep study. Sounds like a fun job, study someone sleeping. Dad snores furry badly and none of us cats like it, especially not our mommycat. He has snored forever and mom already wears earplugs but still can't sleep. They are recommending a CPAP machine to push air in his nose. He said after they let him wear that, he had the best sleep ever. We have to wait until December 2 for that too but soon we can all sleep in peace. The other news we want to share is that our mom keeps talking about a special delivery coming in April. Her and dad keep telling us we are going to be a big brother and a big sister. They also keep talking about a baby in mom's belly and how she thinks it will be funny when it kicks us when we lay on her. I don't know what she is talking about. I hope someone can tell us what that means fur us. Mom says that we will still be their first children and we will still be spoiled. I guess we will see when April comes. Mom says we are going to do regular posts next week with the themes. She thinks if we stay with that it won't be so hard for her to think and look for pictures to post.
