Nemo is a finalist!!!!!!

Please come and vote for me as best in show. There is a lot of really good entries and I'm very nervous. I really would like to win though. I don't ever win anything and my sister is kind of a hog of all attention so I could show her.

We are very angry!!!

See me, the Patches, sitting on the laptop trying to blog. This is what I've been trying to do for almost a week with no luck. That is my dad's laptop and he has a stinkin password on it. I tried mashing every button I could think of but nothing would let me in. My mom promised I could tell people all about me. I hope you guys didn't give up on us and will still come to read our blog. Mom realizes that there is no way she can do a blog post daily but she will try to do more than one a week. I told her lots of cats do a post a day and I didn't understand what she could be doing all day when she leaves us home alone that she couldn't get it done. See all those books. That is my dad's homework for grad school. He did homework the whole weekend so he couldn't help. My mom works with people with disabilities and is throwing a Halloween party for about 25-30 clients tomorrow so she has been busy with getting that ready. We did have time for Halloween costumes and we'll post them after mom is done with the party. I promise I will tell you about me and how I got my forever home sometime soon. Mom is complaining that she has lots of stuff to do for the party so I guess I gotta let her get back to it. I promise we will be back Thursday though with our Halloween costumes.

Roll out the red carpet and the niptinis!

Nemo dressed in his bow tie ready to celebrate.

Patches jumping for joy.

Today is an exciting day at the cat house. First, the heat got put on and there is a vent under the sassy sofa so it gets nice and toasty and then we go online and we find out that we have won an award. We've never won an award before for anything. Mom and dad say we are going to enter the cat show next year because we could wipe them in all categories. Mom and dad said we do not have a red carpet for us to walk on to accept this award but we will pretend and strut our stuff on the catwalk anyway. Mom is going to try to follow the instructions on posting this award but remember she's new at this stuff and has to ask dad for help sometimes. Silly mom, she really needs to get with the times.

We got this award from The Real Cats of Gibbs Creek
This is special because our lookalikes live there.
Maybe we could switch places when its time for baths.
Thank you guys so much for this award. We are so excited.

Here are the award instructions:
Put the logo on your blog.
Add a link to the person who awarded you.
Nominate 10 other blogs.
Add links to those blogs on yours.
Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs.

We will nominate some blogs but not sure we have 10 but we will do our best.

Daisy the curly cat
(without finding her blog we never would have our own)
Dragonheart and Merlin
(we find their hairless looks and wrinkles very interesting)
Skeezix
(he is such a cool cat that is not afraid to wear pink)

Well, it is a start to getting to know people. There are so many blogs out there and I swear my mom reads them all. She thinks they are all such great blogs.

Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Mom says she is sorry that the posts got a little weird. She is just learning how to do this and didn't realize that the post would publish as if it was before the other one and not when she published it. Now she knows what is going on. On to important business. Today is our mom and dad's anniversary. They have been married for two years but have been together for a little over 8 years. We didn't get invited to the wedding. Something about animals not allowed at the buffet. We did get to help open gifts and inspect all boxes of course so we can't complain. We are going to be nice to them tonight and snuggle with them to give them lots of love for their anniversary. They are going to go out for dinner later in the week so they will spend their time with us tonight. We like that they are going to curl under the blankets and watch some TV or a movie. That means we get to lay with them under the blankets.

They are home!

Well our mom and dad are home now from Wisconsin. They are of course too busy to help us make a real blog post but will have something for tomorrow. Since Nemo got to introduce himself and tell his big fat story I will get to this week. My story is far more important and grand and I hope you all come back to read about me, the queen of all cats. Well, I'm off to bother my mom and dad while they try to get some laundry done.

Where did the weekend go?

This is my grumpy look Lazy and grumpy

Patches and Nemo here. Our humans got home finally on Sunday and they were nice enough to stop and get us some food. Our favorite kind so we don't have to eat the yucky chicken stinky goodness that we don't really like. We prefer tuna and fish flavors and even beef to the chicken. They also brought Nemo home a bow tie. Luckily there were no outfits for me but I keep hearing talk of some sort of costume coming up later this month. They got home and complained about how they had paperwork and homework and laundry and "why didn't you cats clean the house while we were gone?" We gave them some rubs since they kinda smelled of other cats and dogs and maybe even a hint of goat. Did they feed us? NO! They were not here for our regular lazy Sunday and they didn't have time to blog or snuggle. They can just wait until they try to sleep tonight, we have plans to keep them up and make sure they listen to our grievances.

Finally Friday

Nemo is all worn out from his blogging adventure last night. It cut into his 20 hour nap he takes everyday. He only got 19 and a half hours. Poor him. Boy am I glad that it is Friday. Our people are leaving us overnight Saturday. They are always nice and make sure to leave lights on for us and fill up our food and water bowls. I hope they leave some heat on too. It is starting to get cold here in Iowa and since we only go outside on leashes we are very used to being warm. Speaking of being warm and since it is Fashion Friday we want to share an old picture of us in our sweaters. Nemo's sweater barely fits in the picture and of course doesn't fit at all now. We are not very good models like Daisy nor do we have as many clothes as her but if it was up to my mom we would. These sweaters keep us very warm in the winter months. Hopefully mom will be able to give a small blog post tomorrow before she leaves for Wisconsin otherwise we will be back on Sunday. If anyone wants to come over we have plenty of nip and know how to get to it so feel free to stop by. Bring your sweater though it gets very cold at night.

The story of Nemo

My sister gave me the rundown on how to use the computer but I prefer to tell my mom what to type. She is much better at typing and spelling than I am and I don't want to embarrass myself on the internets. First, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Nemo but I'm usually called Tubmo or the Mrow because I make loud howling sounds sometimes, especially before using the bathroom. My mom and dad were not looking for a cat when they found me but they loved me just the same. I was living on the farm where my dad grew up, but I was a runt and had a hard time getting food with all the other cats that were bigger than me. I walked up to them and followed them and meowed a lot and they took me home, on the spot. How could you resist a face like this.
Boy did I fool them. Not many months went by and I showed them that I can eat and that it is my favorite thing to do. I was very dirty but they didn't mind and helped to clean me up. This house they took me to had another cat that wasn't too happy that I was there. She would do drive-by hissings at me wherever I went. After awhile she started to warm up to me but I think sometimes she only tolerates me. I love my big sister though, I like to chase her and steal her foods.

I have lived in three different places with my peoples. We used to live in Wisconsin and that is where the farm is and where the beans went to college. The dad got a job in Grinnell, Iowa and we moved here. It was a 3 hour car ride to get here but we ride in the car for long times a lot so it was ok. There were lots of things to see on the way. We just moved into a new place with more space and windows. We now have an upstairs and downstairs and our own grass outside. I'm glad I was able to trick them into being my furrever home. Well that is all for now. I have a lot more things to say about myself but I have lots of time to tell my stories about living in the Midwest. Both of those pictures are pretty old so here is one to show you how much of a mancat I have become.

Just started and already missed a day

I tried everything to get my mom to blog yesterday but she was very busy with that paperwork. I guess I didn't help her enough. She was also very tired and blamed me, Patches, for keeping her up at night. I can't help it that I like to sleep close to her and on the pillow and under the blanket. She is my servant so it should be of no surprise to her that I must wake her up to lift the blanket up to let me in so I can get situated every five minutes.

Nemo will post later this evening and introduce himself to everyone. Mom said it was his turn and that I can't hog the blog.

I feel so loved.

Wow! My servants have been reading me all these comments and I had no idea how many friends I would get. My dad said I had more people visit my blog in one day than he ever gets. I'm not surprised, I am a cat and he is not so it would be boring to read about what he writes. I'm excited to tell all of you about me and my mom said that I HAVE to share the blog with my brother because she doesn't have time to do two blogs and Nemo wants friends too. So we will take turns talking about our adventures and letting you know about us. I've been trying to explain to my mom how to write these things and post pictures and make this page look more like us but she doesn't listen well and does what she wants. I'm just glad that there is spellchecker so I can write my own posts. I'll have to teach Nemo to type and use spellchecker because he isn't as smart as I am. He never is interested in the computer unless there is food involved. Tomorrow I will tell you about me and share some really cute pictures of me because I am the cutest cat in the world. My mom says she has some paperwork to do so I better help her with it so she has more time to cuddle with me later.

My mom has decided it is time for me to have my very own blog. I have been trying to get this accomplished for years. We have been reading so many cat blogs and I am excited to join them in telling the world about how cool cats are. Back at our old apartment I used to have two computers that I could play games and browse the web at the same time. Now, my mom leaves her laptop shut all day and dad has put a password on his computer because I kept using it without his permission. This wouldn’t be a problem if he’d just let me do what I want. They want me to let Nemo blog too but we’ll see if he ever has anything intelligent enough to add.
