The Kats are back in town!

Guess Who's back?!? Mom has decided to try and let us blog again. She is always going on about being so busy but she is always on the computer. We had a scary turn with Nemo this last week which made us all want to find our friends again on the blogosphere and catch up. Here is what we have been up to.

Patches:
I've been peeing on things. I know I'm not supposed to but I am not happy with that Owen being here. Just when they think they have me figured out and solved I pee on something new. Most of my peeing is in Owen's room so I'm not allowed to go in there anymore which stinks because he has a window with a view. When it was cold I snuggled with mom. She rolls around too much and then I have to wake her again with my whiskers so she can lift the blanket so I can get situated. It has been nice lately so we got to go outside. I like to walk around all over but Nemo just wants to sit in the dirt. We don't get out often because it is a lot of work with the kid there. My brother got sick and I mean really sick but he is all better now so he is back to trying to eat my food.

Nemo:

So guys, I got sick. I ate and then I puked and puked and puked all over the house I felt miserable. My people kept offering food and I didn't want to see it at all. There was all this worry about my insulin and that my sugars would be too high or too low. Then I peed on my foot. I still made it to the litter box so I don't know why they complain so much but it was embarrassing to have a stinky foot. Mom kept saying I smelled funny but dad didn't think so. They called the vet anyway so I got to go see all the ladies there. Of course I wouldn't eat for them at first, gotta make them work for their money. They stole my blood and my sugars were high but nothing else so they gave me some fluids and by the time my people got off work, I was all better and eating again. I got something with ketones in my body and I was sick but better now. I just needed some extra pampering and attention is all. That Owen kid has been loving on me. He usually pets nice but he scares me sometimes so I tend to hide under the train table. He likes to tell me I'm soft and give me kisses. He is alright and sometimes he even drops food. Not much has happened other than that excitement. Hopefully we can get on the computer more and see our friends. Hope you are all still there.

Thursday Thirteen-Thanksgiving edition

Hi guys! Remember us? It has been months. We have had a lot of things going on in this house. Mom keeps making these promises to blog but then gets "busy." We think she just gets lazy. Well, the humans are leaving us for a couple days for Thanksgiving. Before that baby thing came, we went with but now they say it is just too much work. We might get to travel for Christmas though. Here are 13 things that we are thankful for this year.

1. That my tail is ok and it didn't need to be amputated at all-Patches
2. I am thankful that my family has jobs to buy all my foods and expensive insulin and lots of vet appointments. I know money is tight and costing them an extra $150-$200 a month is not always easy but they love me.-Nemo3. That my people got my old litter back. I am peeing less often now except if Nemo poops in all of the litter boxes.-Patches

4. We will be thankful for some peace and quiet when the rest of the family is away for the holiday.-Nemo
5. I am thankful to have a house where I can explore the basement.-Patches

6. I am thankful that my mom and dad have great friends to give me insulin while they are gone.-Nemo

7. I am thankful that my hair is growing back on my tail.-Patches

8. I am thankful that I don't get in trouble when I get poop all over the floor, although, I did get thrown into the bath tub.-Nemo
9. I am thankful that I can jump up high places to escape Owen.-Patches

10. We are thankful that we have kitty grass growing in the windowsill for us.-Patches and Nemo

11. I am thankful for wonderful bandanas.-Nemo

12. I am thankful for cuddling in the blankets at night and hogging the bed.-Patches

13. We are thankful for all our great friends.-Patches and Nemo
We are not thankful for this cat that has been hanging out and getting fed on our deck.

We hope everyone is having a great Thanksgiving. Our humans will be home on Saturday and they promised leftovers. I will share my tail photos when they get back as a warning why not to escape the house when they get back.

Feeling better

Feeling better, no thanks to my mrowing people. They let that bhaby thing grab mii all the tyme. Well I'm here to let them know who's boss, I peed on the floor until they got my preferred litter back. I rub my krusty tail skin on them every chance I get. Patchacat is still boss of this house. If that bhaby is going to keep grabbing me we're going to have to see some changes around here. I can dodge him if I want, but it's my house, I was here first. My brother is less smart. He lays right on his toys! The bhaby lays on him then. Dumby brother cat.

Patches and her tail!

UPDATE:
Patches is at home now and resting. The vet believes there is adequate blood flow to the tip that there will not be any amputation needed. Patches was sedated and they shaved the hair to get to the cut. She has a pretty big gash in her tail where skin ripped right off the tail. They put some surgical glue on it, gave her antibiotic shot and pain meds. When we picked her up she was not a happy camper but she has been ok since getting home. She wanted to eat right away as she hadn't eaten all day but then she threw up. She has to wear an e-collar for 2 weeks if we can keep it on her. She is having a hard time with the collar and knowing where she can fit and how she can get places. Right now she wants to jump up on things but lacks the ability to see well. We tried gating her off in her own area but she jumped over the gate. We are just trying to keep her comfortable and keep Owen away now that she can't run fast enough. Anyone with tail injuries want to share how it went. I will post pics soon of her gash and her in the e-collar. The poor thing is having a hard time finding a way to be comfortable to sleep. I'm sure each day will get better. We have 3 days of pain meds so hopefully that helps.

Just wanted to give an update and the story of Patches' tail problem. I was doing trash last night and saw her heading for the door so I went to close it, but she was already out the door. Her tail got shut and her first reaction was to try to pull it. I opened the door and she went running to eat grass, which is what she usually wants to do when she gets outside. I could see that it was bleeding and that it was kind of limp on the end. I got her inside and called the ER vet. They said to control the bleeding and then bring her in in the morning. They said if it was broken they might need to amputate part of the tail. She ate and acted pretty normal last night and moved her tail around which would make it bleed more. I could tell she was having a hard time getting and staying comfortable but otherwise she acted normal. We took her to the vet this morning. The vet said that it looked like the blood flow was still going to the tail and that it looked like she ripped the skin off. The plan is to shave part of her tail and clean it up and give her some antibiotics. They took her back and they decided they need to sedate her to do this. They will sedate her and shave the tail and clean it up and see what needs to be done and will call us with any other problems but that is the plan. She may have a kink but they are going to try to save the tail. I am going to call at noon to check on her to see what they did if we don't hear from them. Thanks for all the purrs and keep them coming. We will keep you updated.
