Happy New Years Eve!

We have given up on being crabby because it has not gotten us anywhere. Tomorrow we will share our Thursday Thirteen New Years Resolutions. Today we want to show you our Secret Paws gifts.
Nemo's secret paws package came from Kodak and 3 Perf family. I was so excited to see what it was that I got. I got my head right in that package and checked it out. It was stuffed full of goodies. I got some treats, a little mouse, a catnip ball that mom won't let me have yet, and a bunch of little ball type things that I have chased and chased and have no idea where they went. I'm sure mom missed some of the stuff that was in there but since I have played with it all and put it in hiding places it is hard to remember it all. Thank you so much, I loved everything in there and even shared with my sister.
Patches was a little more hesitant to look into her package and we regret we cannot remember who it is from. Silly mom is trying to track down the information but if anyone recognizes the package or remembers sending the gift please please let us know. Patches box had Fancy Feast elegant medleys. I love these and I share with my brother. I got a bunch of fun jingly pink balls for me to bat everywhere. I also got this funny furry purple thing that I love to play and play with. There are some feather toys as well, these are so much fun. I've never had anything with feathers on it. Don't mind mom in the pictures wearing pajamas. She always wears her jammies as soon as she gets home so this will not be the last you see of her in pajamas. Mom didn't want to work on editing our pictures since it took so long to get them posted in the first place.

Well, we need to nap. Mom said something about staying up late tonight to ring in the New Year. We aren't sure what shes talking about but I think it requires more napping. Sorry we are so late in posting today.

Still a little crabby!

After mom came home from work last night we sucked up to her because we felt bad for being so crabby. We thought things were going great and she snuggled with us and let us look at our friends blogs and even commented on some. Then she said it was time to organize photos so she could make a post. But guess what she said, you'll never believe our lazy mom. She decided she didn't want to post our secret paws gifts because she was too lazy to get the pictures off of dads computer and edit them and pick them out. Can you believe this crap we put up with. Also she is very embarrassed because she cannot remember where Patches present came from and she wants to give credit to them and thank them for the wonderful gift. If anyone reading this had me Patches from Iowa as their secret paw mom would really like for you to leave a comment or email us at kaltsaskats at gmail dot com. So since our mom is lazy here is one stinking picture of us together looking out the window. Mom has to move the curtain to the center so we can both look out at the same time.

We are crabilated!

So, our humans came home on Friday and we are just posting today. We are so mad that posting about our Secret Paws gifts will have to wait. We got some awesome stuff from our secret paws and if you can believe it mom can't remember who Patches came from so we are waiting to hopefully get that information so we can give credit to them. We also got some cool gifts for Christmas after our humans came back. The weekend was good and we helped snoopervise the cleaning and organizing of the office and being lazy. The real reason we are crabby is when the human who gives us treats at night uploaded photos there were other cats and even a woofie on there. The cats we can handle, but a dog, really! We also had a visitor for a short time but that story is for another day. One crabby post is enough. Here are the evidence we found that our humans cheated on us.
This cat is called Steve-o or Squeakers. He is kind of protective of food.

This is Bouncy, she is about 11 years old. She is white and has a raccoon looking tail. We like her.

This one is simply called Kitty. She meows a lot when petted.
And the worst offender is Famous. We hate this dog! This is the reason we don't get to go anymore. No offense to you dog people, but dogs don't seem necessary when you have 3 cats.
Hopefully we will calm down by tomorrow and get some real posting in. It is really tiring being this crabby.

Santa Claws

Our mom and dad are leaving us for the holiday so we won't be blogging until after Friday. Mom said that Santa Claws will still come and fill our stockings when they get back. We were a little worried. We usually go with our mom and dad for Christmas but our grandma has a dog and 3 cats so we have to be kept in the basement the whole time. We don't like that one bit. Our grandma's cats are indoor/outdoor kitty and she is constantly battling fleas, especially in the basement. Mom and dad certainly don't want to go through that again. Nemo was pretending to be Santa Claws.

Mom and dad also have a book to read us like they do every year. After our mom and dad come back we will post about our Secret Paws gifts that we got awhile ago. We hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

Mancat Monday

I know it has been discussed several times but snoopervising is the single most important task a cat has to do. Our dad decided to clean out the cupboard and rearrange all the tea that was in there and I just had to make sure he did it right. He cleaned out the cupboard and I jumped right in making sure he didn't miss anything. My sister thought maybe she could help but I told her this was a very manly job that needed to be done.

Snoopervising like a man cat should.

There is no room for two to snoopervise!

Chasing Patches out of the manly duties.

Lazy Sunday

We are so lazy around here that we are just getting around to posting. Well, mom had to work and then go shopping to finish our secret paws gifts and then get the big sucking machine out but now we are being lazy for the rest of the night. Mom and dad say that it is -1 out but with the windchill it is almost -30. That seems furry cold. We are glad we are inside kitties. The weather has been the pits around here so mom and dad finally helped us shop for the secret paws this weekend and it will go in the mail tomorrow. We hope we did good.

Fashion Friday

My sister isn't happy that I get to hog the blog today but she always gets to talk so today it is my turn. We are getting some icky winter weather here in Iowa but our mom and dad are here to keep us warm. They are both getting over a cold and we are sneezing too. Today we are posting for Fashion Friday. I want to show you my business look and my weekend look. Mom couldn't find my bow tie for the picture but when we do find it we'll post a picture.

Here is my weekday, business look! I'm doing paperwork by the Christmas lights.

This is the relaxing weekend bandanna. No work allowed!

This bandanna can also double as a bib when needed.

Wordless Wednesday

We got lots of snow yesterday and we are supposed to get lots of ice on Thursday. Hopefully the power will stay on so we can stay warm.

Mancat Monday

Nemo reporting here. We were fighting over the prime spot on the back of the love seat where we can look out the window. Mom opened the curtain on both sides so we could both look out but I took it upon myself to take up the whole space myself so my sister couldn't have any room. In the picture you can see our snow melted mostly. It rained yesterday and then it got very cold. The windchill is supposed to be -15 to -20. We feel bad our mom and dad have to go out in that. We are supposed to be snowing tomorrow again. Maybe mom can have a snow day again. We are really behind in posting about this award we received but we didn't want you to think we forgot so here it is.
Thank you to the creek cats for giving us this lemonade stand award. The Lemonade Award is given to sites which the giver show either great attitude and or gratitude.
The rules for these awards are:

1. Put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded you.
3. Nominate 10 other blogs.
4. Add links to those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs

We are terrible about nominating other blogs but we would like to say that one blogger deserves this for having attitude and gratitude and that is Moki. He has really been through so much and his people have a heart of gold and it touches our heart so much.

In other news we are so sad to keep hearing such bad news from so many cats lately. Mom is visiting your blogs all the time and though she might not comment we are thinking of all of you. Seems like there has been a rough patch and we hope it ends soon.

Lazy Weekend

Well, we had such a lazy weekend that we didn't even post yesterday and we are very late at posting tonight. Our mom tried to put up a giant tree but it doesn't fit so we put up the small tree we used to have. We of course thought it wise to taste it because who doesn't want to taste a fake Christmas tree. Here we are posing. Of course not at the same time.
Our mom was feeling really miserable on Saturday and couldn't breathe through her nose, her throat hurt and she was coughing. We laid on the couch all day with her and it seemed to be working. She is feeling a lot better today and was even able to make dinner and taste it somewhat. Mom got our Christmas cards out to those who sent us addresses. We still have some left so if anyone wants one yet, even if its late we'd love to send one so let us know. Nemo will be posting for mancat Monday tomorrow. It is furry cold here tonight so we are glad we are indoor kitties.

Finally Friday

We are glad its finally Friday and that both our mom and dad only had to work half a day today. We are going to put up the Christmas tree. Mom borrowed a tree from a friend but after putting branches up she doesn't think it will fit so we will have to go back to our small one. Our mom is still sick but we are taking good care of her. Mom was going to let me, Nemo, post for fashion Friday but then my sister had to go to the vet so she thought we would give an update.
Patches speaking. Remember awhile ago I talked about having a weird gray lump on my toe. Well I finally went to the vet today. It was not fun because first it is really cold out there and second I don't like going to the vet by myself. I nestled into Mom the whole time trying to bury myself. The vet looked me over everywhere first and even wanted to see my butt. Mom saw a thermometer sitting out and apologized if that went in my butt but luckily it didn't. We had a nice vet who looked at my toe and was able to just clip it off. He said it was a bunch of dead skin. Mom didn't take a before picture and my paw looks all normal now. I didn't even care when they clipped it off. There was a dog in the waiting room when we left but I did well and even walked to the car. Mom is going to send out the Christmas cards this weekend now that she finally got them all ready to go. She is a little slow at these things. She says there aren't enough hours in the day but we seem to manage to sleep all day. Mom is also proud because she has been able to post every day this week and thinks she has a system down. Hope everyone is ready for the weekend.

Thursday Thirteen err eight

Our mom has come down with a cold so she is sleepy and blowing her nose a lot and sniffing. We are trying to take care of her but she whines an awful lot when she is sick. Mom's cold is affecting her creative part of her brain but we said we'd help up and come up with 13 random things to say, mainly responses to comments.

1. Thank you Whicky Wuudler for telling us about your ear. We are sorry you had a rough feral life before but are glad that you have a nice place to live now.

2. We are so excited about getting mail and we have gotten more cards than our mom and dad this year. Mom thinks the mailman might think we are crazy but oh well.

3. We are also excited about secret paws. Mom was checking our email constantly until we finally got our names and can't wait to go shopping.

4. We can't believe there are so many people as crazy as us out there that there is a whole cat blogosphere. Who would've thought that people would help cats blog.

5. Related to above, mom does not go advertising that she does this because she knows she will get strange looks but most of her Internet time is cat related.

6. We do have a boogie mat. The only bad thing is the zipper is broken so we have never put new nip in it. We can still smell the nip and will go crazy. Mom says she will eventually fix the zipper but we don't believe it.

7. Nemo says he will need to get some more business attire to work for all those who requested. He has a neck tie and a bow tie. If the work environment is casual enough he can wear his bandanna.

8. We are usually told to get off the laptops but when they are not looking we sit on them. On many occasions we have made mom and dad say bad words because we have erased parts of papers or added pages and pages of random gibberish. Patches usually manages to make new folders on the desktop and once she used hotmail to chat with someone for multiple messages back and forth.

I guess we aren't as good as this without mom's help that we only had 8 things to say today. We saw that we were tagged for the 6th picture meme. We have done it once but since we have two computers with two sets of pictures we will love to tell another story. Dad is playing on the computer now so we can't bother him until later. We will also post our award tomorrow when our mommie is rested and has her head on straight. We picked a random pic for today so you wouldn't forget what we looked like after one day.

Tummy Tuesday

We are sharing our tummies today on Tuesday. Nemo's favorite position is on his back. He also sleeps with his eyes half open most times. As mom was searching through the 11,000 pictures she has on the computers she realized how many pictures of Nemo and his white belly she had and how few there were of Patches. My sister is in the background looking out the window at something.
This is the closest thing of a tummy picture for me. I am a lady cat and don't like to let it all hang out and show off all my spots. My mom says I have fat sacks that are empty. My tummy grew so I have lots of extra skin but nothing in them. I guess that's a good thing. Mom says I cannot get a tummy tuck even though it is very embarrassing, especially when I take a bath and it is very obvious.
Just another reminder, sign up for the Christmas card exchange. We'll send cards anywhere because its furry exciting to send mail and receive mail. We've never done this and we are excited to give our cards to the man wearing blue pants to send out.

Mancat Monday

Nemo here reporting. It was a very busy weekend. My dad put up plastic on the windows because its furry cold outside and our house is old and leaks a lot of heat. I did my part by being the best snoopervisor. I would be wearing my business tie but it was the weekend and all. That is my mancat rule for the day. Whenever work is being done, do your best to be involved without actually doing any work.

Sometimes we needed to ask the consultant Patches where to put things so she had to be called in to help place the caulk in the right place.

Mom mentioned that the weatherpeople are saying we are going to get a big storm tonight through tomorrow. Maybe lots of snow. When we lived out of town this meant that mom and dad couldn't go anywhere so we got to hang out with them all day but now we live only a few blocks from their work so they probably could make it. Mom might be home early though, shes hoping at least. She always hates Mondays and asks where the weekend goes. Hope everyone has a good start to the week.

Lazy Sunday

As you can tell it is lazy Sunday at our house and that is why we are so late at posting today. It has been a rough week for our mom and dad and between the two they have had doctors appointments everyday last week but Monday. Our dad got his CPAP machine and is now allowed to sleep in the bed again. It was hard for us to get used to that so we kept walking on him. We are all excited that there isn't any snoring and dad isn't having troubles sleeping with the mask on. Our mom went to the doctor and got to see pictures of the baby. She showed us but we don't see what she tells us is in the photo. Mom and dad hoped to find out what kind of baby they were havin but the baby wasn't cooperative. Mom wasn't surprised, shes used to stubbornness. I, Patches, have been very clingy to mom today. We had a nice long cuddle in the blankets this morning and wherever mom goes, I'm right by her side helping. Mom thinks maybe I'm not feeling well because I did throw up last night and this morning but I am still eating and up and moving so who knows. Sometimes I eat too fast and too much at one time, especially my fancy feast and then throw up. Do any of you cats burp? I burp all the time on my mom but Nemo never burps, his comes out the other end. Mom has to get back to decorating for Christmas, we are snoopervising all the things to knock down.

Wordy Wednesday

This is an old picture of us. We never lay together anymore like this and mom wishes we would be more nice to one another. We have some news about our dad that we would like to share. Our mom and dad went to his followup appointment about his biopsy and his sleep study. We didn't get such great news, but it is not all bad either. With the sleep study they found that dad was stopping breathing every 30 seconds. That is not such good news but they are going to give him a CPAP machine that will make him stop snoring and make him get some good sleep. His snoring has been going on for 10 years so we can't wait for him to finally sleep well and allow mom and the new baby to sleep as well. As for the biopsy on his larynx they found moderate dysplasia. Mom says that dysplasia means abnormal cells. There are 3 forms before they are cancerous, mild, moderate, severe. That they found it at all is just a lucky break and our dad is only 25 (which seems old to us) is good. Now our dad has to go every 6 weeks to get the camera thing shoved up his nose and down his throat to keep an eye on it. If anything returns they will take it out. Most people who have this type are heavy smokers and when they find anything on the larynx it is later in life. Our dad does not smoke but did grow up around smoking. We would like to encourage anyone who smokes to stop and think about what you could be doing to your body but more importantly, look at the others around you, especially kids. Enough of the doom and gloom. We will need continuous purrs from everyone through this but we are glad that we have the ability to know this early and to keep an eye on it. As for our mom, she goes to the doctor today to checkup on the baby and hopefully schedule some sort of picture taking of it inside her. This sounds weird but we'll let you know how it goes. Oh, and its snowing again. Maybe another 4 inches by tonight. Mom will take a picture to show later. Sorry for the wordy post.

6th picture of the 6th folder

We saw this on whiskers & purrs blog and thought it would be fun to pawticipate. Mom finds it hard to help us blog during the week because she is so busy and she couldn't get any pictures of our toes to show off because we were uncooperative. We thought we would do this fun little game for today. So here it is.
Mom doesn't really put photos into folders that often so luckily she had 6 folders that had 6 pictures in them. This is a picture of me, Patches when I was little. Many of my pictures are not on the computer because mom says I'm old and I was around before they had a digital camera. I must be as old as a dinosaur! This picture is from 2005 of me cuddling with my mom. Me and my mom are very close and I prefer to cuddle with her over anyone else in the whole wide world. I even cuddle her every morning in the bathroom. We were watching TV and trying to stay warm. Both me and mom are cold a lot so we like to stay warm with blankets. We aren't going to tag anyone for this but if you like to play along here are the rules.
  1. Go to your Picture Folder on your computer or wherever you store your pictures.

  2. Go to the 6th Folder and then pick the 6th Picture.

  3. Post it on your bloggy and tell the story that goes with the picture.

  4. Tag 5 other glorious peoples to do the same thing and leave a comment on their bloggy tellin' them 'bout it.

Lazy Sunday

This is the day we like to call lazy Sunday. Mom and Dad try to get all the housework done before the afternoon so we can all be lazy together on the couch. Today the cats are being lazy but not the people. It is still snowing out and this is what it looks like out there now.
That is the view from our front porch. Mom said that it was time to play in the snow. We got all excited when our harnesses came out and we were going outside. Once she opened the door, we were not pleased. Nemo went about a step out the door before meowing and pawing to get in.
Patches was a little more adventurous and wanted to investigate even though she was shivering.
Mom says she likes to remind us how good we have it being inside cats. Once inside Patches had to clean her paws but Nemo decided to warm up.We hope you all enjoyed a long Thanksgiving weekend and will be able to relax today like Nemo.

Caturday

We hope everyone had a very good Thanksgiving. Even though our mom and dad were gone they came back today and brought with them some turkey and some pumpkin pie for us. When they came home something else was going on outside. It is hard to tell from the pictures but it is snowing. It has snowed a couple times this winter but it never sticks to the ground. Mom of course, scoops us up and makes us go out and see the snow. We don't really care for the cold outside. We are not savages, we require heat and 12 square meals a day. It is really good to have our humans home again. It is kind of boring without them around and we don't get fed as often. Now we are going to rest with mom and look out the window. We are going to try to visit some friends too. It is hard to get around to everyone and comment, but we are always reading the posts. Oh, we've done some Christmas card exchanges on other blogs but if anyone wants a card from us or would like to exchange cards we would be delighted to send them out. Just email us at kaltsaskats at gmail dot com.

Thursday Thirteen-Thankful

It of course has been busy around here this week so we've been busy trying to get mom or dad to sit for a moment. Mom was sick last night and all she did was sit but she could not bring herself to blog with us. Oh well, this year we are thankful for many things and thought we'd tell everyone what we are thankful for.

1. We are thankful that we have a furrever home that has people who spoil us rotten.
2. We are thankful for catnip.
3. Patches is thankful that mom doesn't mind that I'm in the bathroom with her every morning.
4. We are thankful for lots of windows to watch birdies.
5. Nemo is thankful that I got to eat lots of ham tonight.
6. Nemo is thankful that I didn't even get into trouble when I wiped my poop on the floor and bedskirt.
7. Patches is thankful that mom's baby in her belly isn't kicking me yet.
8. We are thankful that the sun warms our fur every morning.
9. We are thankful for temptations.
10. We are thankful for fancy feast.
11. We are thankful Halloween is over and we don't have to put on ridiculous outfits.
12. We are thankful for water in a glass.
13. We are thankful for our mom and dad.

Our people are leaving us for Thanksgiving. We used to always get to go with and eat lots of food and pass out with the people but grandma got a dog and they seem to always have a flea problem and mom is sick of dealing with it so we are staying home. Mom and Dad made Thanksgiving dinner for friends tonight so we got to eat and they promise to bring leftovers.

An Update on our dad and some news to share.

Well, today is going to be word Wednesday here. We have had so many great comments asking about our dad so we thought we would give a little update. Dad was all back to normal quickly because it was just the biopsy. We are waiting for full results and have that appointment on December 2. Dad got his tooth fixed so its not chipped anymore. Last Sunday dad left at night and stayed all night somewhere else. When he came home he smelled funny. He said that he went for a sleep study. Sounds like a fun job, study someone sleeping. Dad snores furry badly and none of us cats like it, especially not our mommycat. He has snored forever and mom already wears earplugs but still can't sleep. They are recommending a CPAP machine to push air in his nose. He said after they let him wear that, he had the best sleep ever. We have to wait until December 2 for that too but soon we can all sleep in peace. The other news we want to share is that our mom keeps talking about a special delivery coming in April. Her and dad keep telling us we are going to be a big brother and a big sister. They also keep talking about a baby in mom's belly and how she thinks it will be funny when it kicks us when we lay on her. I don't know what she is talking about. I hope someone can tell us what that means fur us. Mom says that we will still be their first children and we will still be spoiled. I guess we will see when April comes. Mom says we are going to do regular posts next week with the themes. She thinks if we stay with that it won't be so hard for her to think and look for pictures to post.

This is the story of a cat named Patches!

Finally mom says I can tell you about me. She doesn't understand that my story is very important and I want to tell it. Today when mom and dad went to the store they left the laptop open. I pushed all buttons but couldn't do this on my own. Now for my story.
This is me as a baby. Mom has tons of pictures of me as a baby but they are real pictures and we don't have a scanner anymore. Well, I was born on a farm in Bloomington, Wisconsin. I was borned on April 14, 2004 in a chainsaw box. My mom saw me when I just opened my eyes and it just happened she and dad would be moving into a place where they could have cats in June. My grandma had to keep me safe which wasn't a very easy job. I tried to escape a lot and I was very adventurous. My grandma brought me inside on her porch with my sisters and brothers. Also on the porch were baby chickens hatching and some doves. My mom and dad visited every weekend until they took me home. They would laugh and laugh as I would run around and then just fall over and sleep. I finally got to go to my forever home in June. My mom spoiled me lots and I have become her baby. They took me everywhere. I got to go to grandmas house for holidays. Sometimes they would take me for drives out in the country and we would stop at parks for me to walk. People looked at my mom and dad funny but I had so much fun.
This is how me and mom sleep every night. Mom goes to bed and I come after making my rounds and she lifts the blanket for me. Sometimes my mom and dad think I believe I am a human. I even talk to them when they talk to me. I do not meow, except when I am in the shower or car. I make these weird noises that sound like a dove. I told mom that I can't help up, that is all I heard when I was a baby. I was not happy about getting a brother but I really do love him and worry about him when he is gone. I am still mom's babycakes even though I'm 4 years old. I have to have my mom time when we can cuddle and I like to follow her around all the time. I love my dad too, don't get me wrong.

I'm just a momma's baby. I have tons of other things to talk about for me but mom said we need to save things for later.
