- Patches is a 5 year old calico cat and Nemo is 4 years old and is orange and white. Nemo was just diagnosed with diabetes and we are learning to handle it and hope to be away from insulin some day. We live in Grinnell, IA with our humans. We have a baby brother named Owen who was born April 15, 2009. They tell us we are spoiled but we disagree.

Nemo, where are you?? Are you at the v-e-t's???
You look so handsome in your harness. It looks like you are at the vets office...I hope everything is ok. Just close your eyes and it will all be over before you know it!

Are you going Outside on a harness and leash? You should be happy!
I wondered about those harneses. Did it take a while to train for the kitty to tolerate it? Did you start with it when Nemo was a baby?

Patches and Nemo were started on the leash and harness early. It does take some time. We started just putting the harness on until they got used to that. Then put the leash on inside the house. It took a lot for them to understand they can walk in it and not just flop over. After awhile though it gets better and it is awesome.
Oh noes? A VET visit?

Thanks for the follow-up about the leashes. I always thought it would be very cool take a kitty on a walk with us... and a leash feels like it would make it safer to do.
Why do all v e t s's exam rooms look the same? Hope all is well.
